The UP4HEALTH project reached its successful conclusion with the Final General Assembly held on December 11th, 2024. This milestone meeting gathered all project partners to present and discuss the final achievements of each work package, showcasing the significant progress made over the course of the initiative.
During the assembly, partners highlighted the innovative outcomes of UP4HEALTH, including the development of sustainable solutions for recovering valuable biomolecules from food processing by-products such as grape pomace, olive pomace, olive stones, and nut by-products. These biomolecules have been successfully transformed into high-added-value ingredients for the nutraceutical and cosmetics sectors, meeting consumer and industry demands for natural and healthier products.
The meeting also reflected on the project’s broader contributions, such as tackling industrial, economic, and social challenges linked to residual streams in the food processing industry, while promoting a circular economy approach.
As the project concludes, we celebrate its legacy in advancing sustainable biorefinery technologies and paving the way for future innovations. The UP4HEALTH consortium extends its gratitude to all partners, stakeholders, and supporters who contributed to making this initiative a success.
