The UP4HEALTH project recently participated in the BeonNAT workshop on High-Value Bioproducts from Underutilised Biomass Resources and Bioresidues, held at IPB-CIMO. This event brought together leading researchers, innovators, and stakeholders to discuss advancements in transforming bioresources into sustainable, high-value products for the bioeconomy.

Representing UP4HEALTH, ISANATUR presented the project’s groundbreaking achievements in developing an integrated biorefinery. This technology recovers valuable biomolecules from food processing by-products like grape pomace, olive stones, and nuts, converting them into high-quality ingredients for the nutraceutical and cosmetics industries.

During the presentation, ISANATUR highlighted UP4HEALTH’s success in addressing industrial and environmental challenges by offering innovative solutions for bioresource valorization. The project contributes to the circular economy and supports Europe’s goals for decarbonization and sustainability, aligning with broader bioeconomy objectives.

The workshop, featuring collaborative efforts with other projects like Sustainext, FIBSUN, MIDAS, and BeonNAT, provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and fostering synergies. Discussions centered on innovative technologies to produce biochemicals, biochar, composites, and other sustainable products, advancing the transition to a greener economy.

UP4HEALTH’s participation underscores its commitment to driving sustainable innovation and unlocking the potential of underutilized biomass resources.
